I fell off the 31 Days train, mostly due to stress and exhaustion (in fact, I am about to go to sleep).  Going to try to jump back and hijack it tomorrow.  Until then, more writing meme questions <3

5. By age, who is your youngest character? Oldest? How about “youngest” and “oldest” in terms of when you created them?

In terms of applied-for RP chars, Valentino is currently my youngest at 17.  If NPCs are included, then Guadalupe wins it, since she's 6 years old.  Oldest for applied-for ones would be........Pretty sure that's Vay, at 25, and oldest including NPCs would be King Wyatt White, at like 50 something I think.

Really? All of my RP chars are 17-25?  Guh need more range there.

The first character I remember creating was Lysha, my terrible terrible ass DBZ/SM OC.  For RP, I think one of the first was a Red Mage named Chaos (yeah, T__________T ).  The most RECENT char in my arsenal is Roimata, unless you count characters in development, cause then you can add Tahorou, Hiken, Tochoki, and Fuyuki from Restless Heavens as well.  Most recent non-RP is probably my unnamed Beast char, from my idea for a retelling of Beauty and the Beast as a Gossip Girls-meets-B-Movie slasher.

6. Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day? Computer or good ol' pen and paper?

I need to be more or less upright when I write, but besides that, as long as there are no cats sitting on me I should be okay.  I prefer being alone to write, or at a cafe or something, but even that is negotiable.  I definitely prefer to write in the late evening, about 9 PM till whenever I go to sleep.  I ALWAYS use my computer to write.  I've tried using pen and paper, but really that's only good for brainstorming to me, and I need a computer to actually write out any stories.

7. Do you listen to music while you write? What kind? Are there any songs you like to relate/apply to your characters?

REALLY.

COME ON.

REALLY?

Actually - sometimes when I get really into writing, I forget to put music on XDDDD But other than that, I need music for any basic daily functioning.  For writing, I tend to prefer more energetic and/or heavy-beat music, but I really can roll with anything.

I've made embarrassing 100+ long playlists for characters.   So.............yeah to the last part of the question.

8. What's your favorite genre to write? To read?

To write, hands-down I love urban fantasy the best.  I like the concept of using fantasy to highlight real-world emotions and human conflict - besides, I'm mostly too lazy to get into the world-building necessary for a true fantasy work.

For reading, it's mostly a rotation between sci-fi, fantasy, and horror.  I have a difficult time remaining interested in non-fiction, and even if a story lacks all fantastic elements, I really need an element of thriller in there to keep me interested.  My absolute favorite books feature heavy WTF moments - I love being shocked and stunned by a plot twist, and I love being shaken by a book after I have read it.  I am most proud of my own work when I feel like I might have sucker-punched the reader, typically through an emotional impact of some sort.
