I totally agree with you re: the larger-than-a-few-lines application form. I know I would rather play, and play with, characters who are more than cardboard cutouts; it's so much more fun writing about characters who feel like they could be real people even if they're magical boys/girls or some other unpossible sort of thing. It provides the foundation for even more growth as things happen to them in the game world. ^_^

So um YES monster apps (even relatively short-form monster apps, such as Kingdom's) are WIN and AWESOME.
