Dude, YES you'll totally see Rakushun-in-progress! ^__^ I'm going to do the head first, so I'll be photo-blogging the process at the very least. And YES TOTALLY we must get together and conspire on outfits! ^____^ I will be needing access to a sewing machine for the body -- everything else is more easily doable with hot glue and spray adhesive and hand-sewing.
The eyes were one of the first things I puzzled out. XD Luckily, Rakushun has nice big adoraboo eyes, so I plan on positioning them in the head in such a way as I can actually see through them. Black buckram will cover the holes -- easy enough to see through, and dark enough that no-one will be able to see in -- and I'll add some golden-brown colouring around the edges and maybe a bit of highlighting. The buckram will get glued to the back of clear half-domes, like those Christmas-tree ornament-making things you can get at craft stores, then set into the head -- might leave a bit of buckram open around the tearduct areas for ventilation, so the domes don't fog up. Then a bit of black craft foam or faux leather around the top to form something of a lid, which with the fur will help hide the joint between eyes and head. ^____^ (I need to do a design sketch. Tonight. XD)
I'll prolly still need a handler to help with vision (Kol has volunteered for one day, and has suggested a repeat of last year's cupcake run in conjunction with it XD), but for the most part I should be able to see just fine. ^_^
