You make me remember why I enjoyed this couple so much. They were terribly flawed people with hang-ups and, somehow, they managed to find a balance where they fit perfectly. They're both stubborn as hell and quite bad with words and explanations. Like so many real life couples, these two had miscommunications that could be looked back on with much rolling of eyes and shame.
I love some of the little flashes of insight into Devo - why this bothers her, how she reacts to being protected and coddled (so very Shateiel but even more Devo), her lack of grace in reaching out for reconciliation... Her deep-down fear that he will just up and leave. Devo would never admit to how much her father's abandonment hurt and affected her view on the world but there you have it.
Thank you, dearest. You're brilliant and you know that, just because they fight, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. That is such a rare, wonderful understanding. <3
