SERIOUSLY AN ANCD CYOA??? DAMN YOU COMPUTER CRASH. ;_; Do you remember much of it? I'm dying to know more now!
I remember CYOA's a fair bit! I kinda drove myself crazy trying to backtrack and try different paths because I wanted to know every ending! There's one that particularly sticks out in my head, although I don't think it was a proper CYOA. I think it involved navigating a labyrinth while trying to find your furry pet/companion.
AND ANIMORPHS. I was such a nut for them for a while, and the concept was just too cool! I think I stopped around the same time you did, but I absolutely loved them (Cassie was my personal favorite XD). Also you have no idea how excited it makes me to know someone else read Raptor Red, which also was a concept I loved, right down to poor Bad Hygiene Raptor who can just never make it with the ladies.
I think some of the ones that stuck with me were Watership Down (it took me a while to get it, but once I did I was totally on board with it. The intensity really got me. I...also kinda wore out my first copy of it.), Where the Red Fern Grows (which made me BAWL LIKE A BABY, which few books earn the privilege of doing. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is another one of those few.), and The Fairy Rebel (which I seem to recall I read for the first time during a sick bout. The main character, a spunky fairy who wears jeans, really stuck with me.)
