I really like working out in the morning compared to the evening. By the evening I'm kinda mentally checked out and half of the time I make up some reason not to work out, so yeah, as you mention, the consistency is a lot better when it becomes part of the morning routine. (My gym is in the same complex as my job :D )
I do cardio on about 3 days a week (I've taken to the elliptical machine lately, since that's the most calories burnt with the least stress on my knees), and I just started up a weight training thing on the other two days. And yeah, I have a change of clothing, but I really only do the shower for the cardio days.
