WHAT CAL SAID. I was totally intimidated by cables too, but then I sat down and tried them out, and they're really not all that hard! The hardest part for me is actually knitting the crossover if I'm working with a thick cable, but the principle is easy peasy, and you will wonder why you were so intimidated. XD
