That said, I think one of the best things about it really is how believable everyone is. You nailed the characters, I think, and the dialogue is clever while still being balanced with emotions and sensory sections. It's very human and sweet. It also shows Val's insecurities and hang-ups without slapping us with them. It's subtle and validating somehow.
