How I feel right now, in a nutshell:

guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh it's so hard to be excited as all hell and practical/neurotic as all hell as well.  Right now I'm waiting for my old boss to get back to me (I wanted to warn him that he'll be getting phone calls out of Cali instead of Vegas, and also to beg to give me a number other than the general department phone number, which any hack could pick up).  But if he's not back to me tomorrow, whatever the fuck I'll start applying tomorrow anyways.  I'm so anxious that I just need to make some progress somewhere.  I feel like I should be 100% confident in moves like these, but someone corrected me and said that only an insane person would be 100% confident about anything.  So.  I DON'T KNOW I AM RUNNING IN CIRCLES MAKING JAZZ HANDS.

I've read books but totally forgot which ones T_T so I'll have a book post once my brain works again.    However, I have been chronically watching DBZ Abridged and The Nostalgia Critic.  Which is sort of culture.  NOT REALLY.

Quite randomly; This song, "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" by LCD Soundsystem, really describes a fantasy to me.   Here are some lyrics to illustrate why I feel this way:

Well Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house
I've waited 7 years and 15 days
There's every kid for miles at my house, my house
And the neighbors can't...call the police
There's a fist fight brewin' at my house, my house
Because the jocks can't...get in the door

...

Well everybody's lined up at my house, my house
And Sara's girlfriend is working the door
Got everybody's PA at my house, my house
All the robots descend from the bus
There's a freakout brewin' at my house, my house
In the basement...

It's not so much describing the fantasy in that I want Daft Punk to be playing at my house (ALTHOUGH THAT WOULD BE PRETTY WICKED).  No, to me it's a fantasy of a world where if I say "hey, Daft Punk is playing at my place, who wants to come?" that the reaction would be "WHAT THE SHIT I AM SO THERE, AND BRINGING A RIOT WITH ME" instead of "Who's that?".  Ever since I was 14 it's always broken my heart that Daft Punk is so unappreciated in the US.  Not even their collab with Kanye West made much of a difference.  So that is why this song has particular relevance to me  <3
