Wait, new!Who fandom hates Davies now? I think I'm just familiar with a sector of DW fandom which is so fanatical it's loath to criticize anything whatsoever about DW, but it strikes me as... err, inconvenient to hate Russell Davies given Russell Davies practically is new!Who.
(I've met people who hate Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler, Ten, and all manner of main characters, but never actually Russell Davies. Trippy. I wonder if there are PotC fans who hate Gore Verbinski.)
